A 1P-1853 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Start By:
Remove the front air over hydraulic cylinder and the rear air over hydraulic cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air/Hydraulic Cylinder (Front Brake) - Remove" and Disassembly and Assembly, "Air/Hydraulic Cylinder (Rear Brake) - Remove" for the correct procedure. Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Remove nuts (1) and cylinder assembly (2).

Remove overstroke switch (4) and the O-ring seal.
Remove rod (3) and the O-ring seal.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove nut (5), piston assembly (6), and spring (7).

Remove bolts (8).

Remove retaining nut (12), seal (10), piston (9), and spring (11), and O-ring seals (13).

Remove screw (14) and end cap (15). Note: The breakaway torque of end cap (15) is a maximum of 88 N m (65 lb ft).

Remove body (16), rod (17 ), and cylinder tube (18).
If necessary, remove seals (20) and nuts (19).

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (22).
Remove rod (17), valve (21), and seal (23) from body (16).

Remove seals (24) from plate (25).
