While the boom (1) is raised, engage the hooks (2) .
Move the boom down against the hooks.
Loosen bolts (15). Slide the wedges (16) into position in order to achieve a clearance of 1.0 mm (0.04 inches) to 2.0 mm (0.08 inches) between the wedges (16) and the swing frame (12) .
Loosen the bolts (13) and adjust the stop (14) in order to provide a 2.0 mm (0.08 inches) to 3.0 mm (0.12 inches) clearance between the notch in the hook (2) and the pointer on the stop (14) .
Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of 55.0 10.0 N m (40.00 7.00 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 55.0 10.0 N m (40.00 7.00 lb ft).
Raise the boom (1) and check the operation of the boom lock. The lock should release.
While the boom is raised against the swing frame (9), hold the backhoe control lever in the RAISE position in order to compress the wedges. This will also eliminate any gaps.
Adjust the cable (6) to a minimum length in order to ensure that the pin can go into the locked position (A) and the operating position (B) .
Use a tool for compression in order to crimp the sleeve of the cable. Trim the excess cable and leave approximately 25.0 mm (1.00 inch)on the end of the cable. Wires or sharp edges are not permitted to protrude from the assembly.
Route cable (7) between the two lowest hydraulic hoses.
Attach the cable (7) inside the cab. Install the clips (8) and (9) to the cable at the white marks on the cable. Secure the clip to the bracket. Install the cable into plate (3). Install the spring (4) and secure the inner member of the cable into the slot of the plate (3). Loosen the jam nuts (5) in order to remove the twisting of the cable. Swing the boom to the right side of the machine. Torque the jam nut (5) to 20.0 5.0 N m (15.00 4.00 lb ft). Operate the boom several times in order to ensure that cable does not twist excessively. Operate the boom several times in order to make sure that the boom does not contact the swing frame.
Ensure that the cable follows the loop of the hoses.
Before you tighten the nut and the bolt, the cable (7) determines the angle of the clip (8).
Tighten the locknut (10) to a torque of 50.0 10.0 N m (37.00 7.00 lb ft).
For proper lubrication, install the fitting (11) in the position that is shown.
