First speed forward through seventh speed forward.
First speed reverse through fifth speed reverse.The wheel drives will free wheel in eighth speed forward and sixth speed reverse. When the pistons in the all wheel drive motors are retracted away from the cam ring, the wheel drives are freewheeling. This does not provide torque to the all wheel drive motors.The all wheel drive system is composed of five main components:

Flushing and cooling control valve (11)
Wheel drive (3) and wheel drive (10) The all wheel drive system is a hydrostatic drive system that is a closed loop circuit.Even though this is a closed loop circuit, a certain amount of oil is removed from this circuit. The oil is removed through the case drains. This is the oil that passes through the sequence valves. The oil passes through the sequence valves for cooling and for filtration. All wheel drive gear pump (15) continuously supplies makeup oil to the closed loop circuit. All of the makeup oil first enters the filter in the main hydraulic system. Then, the oil passes through the filter in the all wheel drive system.

Filter (13) is connected to the discharge line of the all wheel drive gear pump. Filter (13) provides filtration in the charge circuit in addition to hydraulic tank and filter (8) . Filter (13) is protected by a bypass valve that is set at 172 kPa (25 psi) .The filter element is located in filter (13) . A clogged filter will cause an increase in the hydraulic oil pressure.
