If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.

Rework Procedure
Removal and Disassembly of the Existing Non-vented Rear Hood:
Refer to Image1.1.1 for assistance when replacing the existing non-vented hood with the new vented rear hood. The table is intended to be a reference to assist with the removal, sub-assembly, and installation of the new vented rear hood. Some parts identified on this table will not be replaced and are not included in the Service Letter Parts Needed.
1. Fully open rear door (1) until latch (2) is in the locked position.
Note: Prior to proceeding to the next step, ensure that the machine is placed on level ground and the hood is secured. The approximate weight of the hood is 5lbs.
Note: Retain all hardware for later reassembly.
2. Remove the 3B-4611 Cotter Pin and 7X-0579 Washer securing the latch assembly to the hood. Remove the latch from the hood leaving it connected to the machine.
3. Remove the two 8T-4137 Bolts and 7X-7729 Washers securing the hinge to the rear hood.
Refer to Image1.1.2 for details on the latch and hinge removal.
4. Remove the hood from the machine.
5. Remove the 285-7702 Cover Latch and 369-3699 Latch Assembly from the non-vented hood assembly.
Refer to Image1.1.2 for the cover and latch removal.
Note: It is not necessary to remove the foam or grommet from the existing hood. New foam and a grommet are provided in the Parts Needed and will be used for sub-assembly of the new vented rear hood.

Sub-assembly of the New Vented Rear Hood:
1. Install new grommet (10) into the hole on new vented rear hood (12).
Refer to Image1.2.1 for the location of the grommet installation.
2. Install latch assembly (5) and latch cover (4) using the hardware from the disassembly of the old hood. Tighten the bolts to a specified torque of 55 +/- 10 N.m.
3. Install new foam (6), (7), (8), and (9) to the new vented hood.
Refer to Image1.2.2 for the proper location of the foam.
4. Install new 4369023/">436-9023 Film (11).
Note: Ensure that the surface is clean a free of any oils or grease prior to installing the new film.
Refer to Image1.2.3 for the correct location of the film.
