Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

Remove footrests (1) and floor mat (2) .

Remove plate (3) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (4) .

Disconnect harness assembly (5). Disconnect hose assembly (6) .

Remove bolts (7) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to steering motor (8). Remove steering motor (8). The weight of steering motor (8) is approximately 29 kg (65 lb).Installation Procedure
Install steering motor (8) in the reverse order of removal.
