Remove antirotation plug (6) from the valve body.
Unplug the wires to the solenoids on both end (A) and end (B). Remove both solenoid housings.
Place a wrench or a socket on nut (7) and nut (8). Loosen both nuts at the same time.
If nut (7) on end (B) breaks loose first, remove the following parts from end (B) :

Outer spring retainer (10)
Inner spring retainer (11) Remove spool (12) from the housing from end (A) .
If nut (8) on end (A) breaks loose first, remove the following parts from end (A) :
Spring (13)
Coupling (14)
Inner spring retainer (15)
Outer spring retainer (16) Remove spool (12) from the housing from end (B) .
Remove all of the hardware from the ends of main spool (12). Organize the hardware so that you can install this hardware on new main spool (4). Make sure that you do not damage the ground surface of the new main spool.
Remove existing primary shuttle (17) from the valve body at end (B). See View A-A in Illustration 2. The primary shuttle looks like a SAE plug when you look from the outside of the valve. Primary shuttle (17) is under the housing at end (B) that was removed in Step 2.
Install new primary shuttle (5) in the valve body. Tighten the primary shuttle to a torque of 13.6 N m (10 lb ft).
Clean the threaded ends of coupling (14) and coupling (18). Apply a drop of 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to both ends of the internal threads of the new main spool prior to assembling the hardware to the new main spool. Install the inner spring retainers and the couplings on end (B) and end (A) of the new main spool. Tighten by hand. Immediately go to Step 8.
Assemble the springs and the outer spring retainers onto each end of the new main spool. Apply a drop of 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of coupling (14) and coupling (18) before you install the nuts.
Torque nut (7) and nut (8) against each other to a torque of 8.1 N m (6 lb ft).Note: If the nuts have slots, the nuts must be installed so that the slots are facing toward the spring retainers.
Install the solenoid housings. Tighten the socket head cap screws to a torque of 8.1 N m (6 lb ft). If the solenoid valve cartridge was removed, reinstall the cartridge in the housing. Tighten the cartridge to a torque of 12.2 N m (9 lb ft).
Reinstall antirotation plug (6). Tighten the plug to a torque of 4.1 N m (3 lb ft).
