Installation Procedure
Note: Make sure that all mounting surfaces are clean prior to installation.

Attach a suitable lifting device on both ends of oscillating axle (20) . The weight of the oscillating axle is approximately 2220 kg (4900 lb).

Raise the oscillating axle into position.
Install nuts (19) and the washers that hold rear trunnion support (13) to the rear loader frame. Tighten nuts (19) to a torque of 1000 125 N m (740 90 lb ft).

Install nuts (18) and the washers that hold front trunnion support (15) to the rear loader frame. Tighten nuts (18) to a torque of 1000 125 N m (740 90 lb ft).Note: Install suitable blocks between the rear axle housing and the rear main frame on both sides of the machine in order to prevent the axle housing from oscillating during the installation procedure.

Connect fitting (17) to the front, right side of the oscillating axle.

Connect fitting (16) to the front, left side of the oscillating axle.

Connect hose assembly (14) to the top of front trunnion support (15) .

Connect hose assembly (12) to the top of rear trunnion support (13) .
Fill the oscillating axle. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.Note: If equipped, follow Steps 10 through 21 for the installation of the rear guards to the 826H Landfill Compactor.

Secure support (10) to a suitable floor jack. The combined weight of plate (9) and support (10) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).
Use the suitable floor jack to carefully install plate (9) and support (10) .
Install bolts (11) and the washers.

Secure lower rear guard (8) to a suitable floor jack.
Use the floor jack in order to install lower rear guard (8) . The weight of lower rear guard (8) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).

Use two people in order to install upper rear guard (3) . The weight of upper rear guard (3) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Install two bolts (6) and the washers.
Install six bolts (5) and the washers.
Install four bolts (4) and the washers on each side of the rear guard.
Install two plates (2) .
Install eight bolts (1) , the washers, and eight nuts (7) .
Repeat Steps 10 through 20 for the installation of the other rear guards and the supports.End By:
Install the crankcase guard.
Install the rear drive shaft.
Install the rear tires and rims or install the compactor wheels.
Purge the air from the braking system. For the correct procedure, refer to Testing and Adjusting for the machine that is being serviced.
