(1) Tack weld the steel plate to the top plate of the hydraulic jack. Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock.

Remove bolt (1). Repeat this step for the opposite side of the machine.
Illustration 2 g03630237Note: Crankcase guard (2) may contain a significant amount of rock, dirt, liquids, and debris, which will result in significant additional weight.
Position Tooling (A) and suitable cribbing under crankcase guard (2). Raise Tooling (A) until Tooling (A) and the suitable cribbing contacts crankcase guard (2). The weight of crankcase guard (2) is approximately 344 kg (758 lb).

Remove bolts (3) and the spacers. Remove bolts (4) and the spacers.

Do not lower the bottom guard while under the machine. Injury could occur if the bottom guard slips off of the jack while it is being lowered.
Lower crankcase guard (2) until crankcase guard (2) rests on the suitable cribbing of Tooling (A). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Power Guard Control" for the correct lowering procedure.

Remove pin (6) (not shown) in order to disconnect guard cylinder (5) from crankcase guard (2).

Do not lower the bottom guard while under the machine. Injury could occur if the bottom guard slips off of the jack while it is being lowered.
Remove bolts (7) and the hard washers. Repeat this step for the opposite side of the machine.
Use Tooling (A) in order to carefully lower crankcase guard (2).

Release the hydraulic system pressure.
Disconnect hose assemblies (9). Remove pin (8) and remove guard cylinder (5). Installation Procedure
Install crankcase guard (2) in the reverse order of removal.
