Remove the heat shield for the cylinder being serviced.

Remove five bolts (1) and the washers. Remove valve cover (2).

Remove seal (3) from valve cover (2). Cylinders 15 and 16

Remove shields (4), (5), and (6).

Remove cover (7) and cover (8). Note: The following steps apply to Cylinder 15.

Remove covers (9) and (10).

Remove guard (11). Note: The following steps apply to Cylinder 16.

Remove cover (12).

Remove covers (14) and (15).

Remove shield (16).
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 in "Cylinders 1 Through 14" to remove the valve covers for cylinders 15 and 16. Installation Procedure
Install valve cover (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 28 7 N m (248 62 lb in).
Apply Tooling (A) to the hardware for the exhaust shields prior to installation.
