This diagnostic code is associated with the manual select switch. The FMI 03 diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM reads the signal of the inputs and one or both of the inputs are open.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The switch has failed.
The ground circuit has an open circuit or a bad connection.
There is an open or a bad connection in one or both of the input circuits.
The ECM has failed. An ECM failure is unlikely.
