Problems with the electronic control system can be reported via flash codes or diagnostic trouble codes. Flash codes provide an indication of a problem with a specific engine subsystem. Diagnostic trouble codes provide information on the engine subsystem and information that is related to the failure mode of the problem.Table 1 and Table 2 list the cross-reference information that is necessary to locate the circuit test that will assist in diagnosing electrical problems for the engine subsystems. To diagnose a problem with a flash code that is known, locate the flash code in the table and perform the related circuit test that is listed.For information on diagnostic codes, refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Trouble Code List".Cross-Reference for Flash Code to CID-FMI and Event Code
