(4) Shim
The normal position of the adjustment screw for the brake relief valve is 18 mm (0.71 inch). Note: If the adjustment screw is turned into 14.5 mm (0.57 inch), the brake will not be active and the brake will not release. If the adjustment screw is turned into 18 mm (0.71 inch) (3), the brake will be active and the brake is adjusted to the normal position.

(4) Shim
Shims that are 0.5 mm (0.0197 inch) thick will change the brake release pressure by 3.6 bar (50 psi). Increasing the shims (4) by 1 mm (0.040 inch) will increase the brake release pressure by 7.3 bar (100 psi).Decreasing shims (4) by 1 mm (0.040 inch) will decrease the brake release pressure by 7.3 bar (100 psi).Note: Excessive travel of piston (5) and damage to spring (6) may result if screw (3) is adjusted out more than 18 mm (0.71 inch).
Start the engine.
Warm the hydraulic oil to normal operating temperature. Normal operating temperature is 55 5°C (130 10°F).
Turn the engine speed dial until the engine speed is 1400 RPM on the display.
Read the pressure on the pressure indicator. The pressure should read zero on the pressure indicator.
