Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Release the pressure in the steering system and in the braking system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank for the implement system and the hydraulic fan into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil (Implement and Hydraulic Fan) - Change".
Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank for the steering system and for the braking system into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil (Steering and Brake) - Change".

Attach a suitable lifting device to grill assembly (1). Remove grill assembly (1). The weight of grill assembly (1) is approximately 48 kg (106 lb).

Remove grill assembly (2). Repeat for the opposite side.

Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4).

Remove nuts (6) that secure hydraulic oil cooler (5) to the radiator guard.

Open hydraulic oil cooler (5). Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to hydraulic oil cooler (5). The weight of hydraulic oil cooler (5) is approximately 127 kg (280 lb).

Remove nuts (6) from hydraulic oil cooler (5).

Move hydraulic oil cooler (5) toward the left side of the machine. Position hydraulic oil cooler (5) on suitable cribbing in order to move the suitable lifting device to the outside of hood (7).

Remove hydraulic oil cooler (5).

Position hydraulic oil cooler (5) on a flat surface.
Remove bolts (8) and (10).
Attach a suitable lifting device to frame assembly (9). The weight of frame assembly (9) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

Remove frame assembly (9) from core assemblies (11) and (12). The weight of core assembly (12) is approximately 57 kg (125 lb).
