the auto/manual switch is in the AUTO position, the ECM automatically upshifts the transmission and the ECM automatically downshifts the transmission. An automatic upshift is not possible to a gear that is higher than the gear that is selected by the operator. There is no automatic downshift from gear 2 to gear 1. To downshift from gear 2, the downshift switch must be pressed or gear 1 must be selected with the shift lever. When the downshift switch is pressed momentarily, the ECM downshifts the transmission by one gear. If the downshift switch is held depressed, the ECM will continue to downshift the transmission as machine speed decreases. After the downshift switch is released, the ECM waits for five seconds before resuming automatic shifting.
