Schematic of the indicator lampTest Step 1. CHECK THE INDICATOR LAMP.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Replace the indicator lamp with a similar indicator lamp that is known to be correct.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Observe the indicator lamp.Expected Result:The indicator lamp functions properly.Results:
OK - The indicator lamp functions properly during the three second test cycleSTOP
NOT OK - The indicator lamp is not the problem. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE HARNESS.
Remove the LED from the socket.
Check for an open circuit between the following points.
Check between the circuit of the indicator lamp (wire 410-WH) and the breaker.
Check between the circuit of the indicator lamp (wire L987-WH) and the breaker.
Check between the circuit of the indicator lamp (wire 200-BK) and cab ground. Expected Result:The resistance that is measured is less than 5 ohms. The circuits are correct.Results:
OK - The circuits are correctSTOP
NOT OK - The circuits are NOT correct.Repair: Repair the harness or replace the harness.STOP
