Raise the coupler until the coupler comes in contact with the hooks on the fork. Continue to slowly raise the coupler until the log and lumber fork begins to lift. Ensure that the log and lumber fork has remained level. Refer to Illustration 2.

Tilt the coupler backward until the log and lumber fork fully contacts the coupler. Refer to Illustration 3.
Move the quick coupler switch to the Lock or Engage position.If the coupler is controlled by the 3rd Auxiliary Hydraulic Control Lever, move the control forward to the Lock or Engage position. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the host machine for additional information on controls.
Inspect the quick coupler engagement before operating the machine.Serious injury or death may result from improperly engaged coupler.
Crush injury. Could cause serious injury or death. Always confirm that the quick coupler is engaged onto the pins. Read the Operator's Manual.

Visually inspect the quick coupler in order to ensure that the coupler wedges (1) are extended into the corresponding holes (2) in the work tool mounting bracket.
Also use the following procedure to verify engagement of the coupler wedges.
Enter the machine.
Fasten the seat belt and lower the armrests.
Start the engine.
Disengage the parking brake.
Raise the fork and fully dump the fork.
Shake the fork up and down with the tilt cylinders in order to verify engagement of the coupler wedges.
Ensure that the couplings for the quick disconnect of the top clamp are clean. Connect the couplings to the host machine.Note: The position of the top clamp may affect the pressure in the connecting lines. This can make connecting the connecting lines difficult.
Do not apply downward pressure on the fork tines. Do not pry with the fork tines. Do not side load the fork tines. Premature failure of the fork tines may occur and cause a crush hazard. Personal injury or death may occur.
Uncoupling the Work Tool
Place the fork in a safe position before engaging or disengaging the quick coupler. Ensure that the fork is not carrying a load.Serious injury or death may result from engaging or disengaging the fork when it is in an unstable position or carrying a load.
Log fork may swing away from the coupler as the wedges are released and the coupler is tilted or lowered. Could cause serious injury or death. Keep all personnel away from the log fork when uncoupling the log fork.
Position the fork on a level surface. Use an appropriate level in order to ensure that the fork tines are level.
Move the quick coupler switch to the Unlock or Disengage position.If the coupler is controlled by the 3rd Auxiliary Hydraulic Control Lever, move the control back to the Unlock or Disengage position.

Note: If the coupler wedges (1) are stuck, perform the following procedure in order to release the coupler wedges.
Raise the fork slightly above the ground. Shake the fork up and down with the tilt cylinders. Repeat step 2.
