When reporting the repair, use "PS40660"as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered beforefailure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" asthe SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as theWarranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. The information supplied in this serviceletter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. The tube needs to be shortened to prevent cableinterference on certain 307C Excavators. Battery cable interferes withthe tube that is welded on the bottom sheet below the engine. The interferencecan cause cable wear and short circuit.AFFECTED PRODUCT

Remove the 4 bolts securing the 1990123Sheet and remove the 1990123 Sheet. Refer to Illustration 2
Cut 60mm from item (2) tube located onitem (1) 1990123 Sheet. Refer to Illustration 3
Paint exposed metal surface and reinstallsheet. Tighten the 4 bolts, securing the 1990123 Sheet, to 100 +/- 20 N.m(75 +/- 15 ft-lbs.)
