Remove carrier assembly (4) from both final drives (3).

Remove right hand boom cylinder (5). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Cylinder - Remove and Install".
Start the engine. Rotate the upper structure until the upper structure will allow the undercarriage frame to be removed. Raise the boom and fully extend the stick cylinder.

Start the engine. Adjust the boom cylinder in order to position the end of the stick to the proper distance from the hard, level surface. The distance between the end of the stick and the hard, level surface should be equal to the distance between the bottom of the counterweight and the hard, level surface. This distance is approximately 1549 mm (61 inch). Stop the engine.
Adjust the length of Tooling (D) and install Tooling (D) in place of the right hand boom cylinder. Be sure to use five bolts, five washers, and five nuts in order to hold Tooling (D) together.

Adjust the height of Tooling (B) so that Tooling (B) can be installed under the end of the stick, as shown. Make sure that Tooling (B) is centered under the end of the stick.

Covers (6) and (7) are located on the underside of the engine.
Remove bolts (8) from the hinge. Remove the bolts and cover (6). Remove the bolts and cover (7).

Install Tooling (C) under the main frame at the rear of the machine, as shown. Install Tooling (E) under the main frame at the rear of the machine, as shown.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

Cover (10) is located on the underside of the undercarriage frame.
Note: Mark the location of longer bolts (9) for installation purposes. Cover (10) is attached to a stud that allows cover (10) to rotate without completely removing cover (10).
Remove bolts (9). Rotate cover assembly (10) out of the way.

Make sure that you mark tube assemblies (11) and (12) for installation purposes.
Remove tube assemblies (12) from the tee fitting. Remove six hose assemblies (11) from the swivel joint.

Disconnect lubrication tube assemblies (14) from the fitting on the frame of the upper structure.
Use Tooling (A) to remove bolts (13) that secure the upper structure to the undercarriage frame.

Install Tooling (F) in the upper structure. Install Tooling (F) with 90 degree angles between the bolts. Install the guide bolts through the swing gear and bearing into the upper structure. Note: It is important to keep upper structure (15) level when the upper structure is being removed from the undercarriage frame. If the upper structure is not kept level, binding of pinion shafts (16) in the swing drives with swing gear and bearing (17) will result. The clearance between the gears is minimal.Note: The weight of the upper structure and the undercarriage frame will vary depending on the attachments. The weights that are listed below are only approximations.
