The valves need to be reworked to eliminate cold start problems on certain 315, 317 and 317N Excavators. The drain line connected to port DR3 of pilot manifold can be saturated on certain 315 and 317 Excavators equipped with two pump flow attachment when oil viscosity is low (outside temperature below -5 degrees C). Saturation on drain line leads to separation of the 2 halves of the stick II spool, interrupting NFC signal. The pump is activated at full stroke so that engine cannot start.

Drain line from main valve port dL6 is rerouted to main pump suction line to de-saturate pilot manifold drain line. See Illustration 1.
1. Connect a vacuum pump on the hydraulic tank and turn it on.2. Disconnect and remove 1087153 Hose from Main Valve ports dL5 and dL6.3. Disconnect 7I0942 Hose from Main Valve port dL6 and reconnect it to Main Valve port dL5.4. Remove 1049200 Tee from Main Valve port dL6 and replace it by 0303978 Connector.5. Connect 5I4460 Hose to 0303978 Connector on port dL6.6. Route 5I4460 Hose between hydraulic tank and engine compartment to reach pump compartment.7. Disconnect 7I0178 Hose from suction pipe 116-0274.8. Connect 0619258 Tee Swivel to 1160274 Suction Pipe.9. Connect 7I0178 and 5I4460 Hoses to 0619258 Tee Swivel.10. Disconnect vacuum pump from the hydraulic tank.
