G3600 FamilyTwo new tools are available for rebuilding the cylinder heads on 3600 engines. Both tools are manufactured by Ludwig-Hunger GmbH. The valve seat insert can be refaced, and the bore for the valve seat inserts that are in the cylinder head can be machined oversize with these tools.A tool is available for refacing the valve seat inserts. This tool is available in two kits. The Ludwig-Hunger part number for the standard kit is 247 00 336, and the Ludwig-Hunger part number for the master kit is 247 00 337. The standard kit contains the basic tool that is required in order to reface the insert. This kit includes the following items: the basic machine, an adapter head with a 30.75 degree angle, an adapter head with a 45 degree angle, a valve guide pilot, a centering spider, a power supply and a case. The master kit contains the items in the standard kit and the following items: a tool for cleaning the valve guides and a tool that measures the eccentricity of the valve seat insert. A 20.5 degree adapter head is also available.This tool offers several advantages over traditional grinding methods. The angles on the adapter head are preset. There are no stones that need to be dressed. The standard industrial carbide tips that are on the tools are replaceable. The carbide tip is easily replaced with a single screw. The electrically operated tool is fast and quiet.A tool is available for oversize machining of the bores for the valve seat inserts that are in the cylinder head. This tool is also available in two kits. The Ludwig-Hunger part number of the standard kit is 259 00 336, and the Ludwig-Hunger part number of the master kit is 259 00 337. This tool can machine the bores for standard valve seat inserts and the bores for water cooled valve seat inserts. The standard kit contains the following items: the basic machine, the cutter head, a tool calibration stand, three calibration disks, a valve guide pilot, a power supply and a case. The master kit contains the items in the standard kit and the following items: a tool for cleaning the valve guides and a tool that measures the eccentricity of the bore of the valve seat insert.
