START BY:a) remove front wheelsb) remove steering tie rodc) remove wheel lean bar 1. Install tooling (A) under the drawbar as shown.
Oil that is hot or under pressure can cause personal injury. To prevent injury, let the oil become cool before oil lines (1) and (2) are disconnected.
2. Disconnect oil lines (1) and (2) from the steering cylinders. 3. Disconnect oil lines (4) from wheel lean cylinder (3). 4. Remove two nuts and bolts (8) that hold the pins in position in the frame.5. Fasten a hoist to the front axle.6. Remove the two pins (5) that hold front axle (7) to the frame. Remove two washers (6) and (9) that are between the front axle and the frame. 7. Remove front axle (7) from the machine. The weight of the front axle is approximately 1750 lb. (794 kg). 8. Remove lip type seals (10) from the axle. Use tooling (B) to remove the bearings from the front axle. If the bearings are damaged and can not be removed, use tooling (C).Install Front Axle
1. Lower the temperature of the four bearings for the front axle. Install four bearings (1) in the front axle with tooling (A). Install the bearings .344 .016 in. (8.74 0.41 mm) from the outside surface.2. Install the four new seals in the front axle with tooling (B). Install with the lip of the seals toward the outside surfaces and even with the outside surfaces of the front axle. 3. Fasten a hoist to the front axle. Put front axle (2) in position on the machine. The weight of the front axle is approximately 1750 lb. (794 kg). 4. Put washers (4) and (6) in position between the frame and the front axle. Install two pins (3) that hold the front axle to the frame. Make sure the holes in each pin are in alignment with the holes in the frame.5. Install the two bolts and nuts (5) that hold the pins in position. 6. Connect two oil lines (7) to wheel lean cylinder (8). 7. Connect oil lines (9) and (10) to the steering cylinders.END BY:a) install steering tie rodb) install wheel lean barc) install front wheels
