Caterpillar announces a remanufactured long block for service of 3406E engines with 5EK and 6TS serial number prefixes:

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Reman long blocks expand the repair options available. When used with other Remanufactured products and reusable components from the core engine, long blocks help reduce turnaround.
This 3406E long block comes fully assembled with the following major component groups:
0R8323 short block Front housing
Cylinder head Valve mechanism
Camshaft Front gears
Water pump Valve cover
The fuel transfer pump, breather assembly and oil cooler core are shipped loose with the long
block.
CORE ACCEPTANCE
Any 3406E long block from an engine with a 5EK or 6TS serial number prefix is an acceptable
core. See Cat Reman Core Acceptance Criteria (SELD0029) for core return guidelines.
