Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Loosen adjustment screws (1) on each rocker arm. This will help ease the tension on rocker shaft assembly (4) during removal.Note: It is not necessary to remove the oil supply tube in order to remove the rocker shaft assembly and the pushrods.
Remove three nuts (2) and bolt (3) from rocker shaft assembly (4). Begin with the end brackets and move toward the center.
Remove rocker shaft assembly (4) from the cylinder head.
Remove the oil seal from the oil supply passage in the cylinder head.

Place an identification mark on the pushrods for installation. Remove pushrods (5) from the cylinder head.
