Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Drain and Fill" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Disconnect tube assembly (1) and hose assembly (2).

Remove bolts (4) and hydraulic tank (3).

Remove breather (7).
Remove bolts (5), cover (6), and the gasket.
Remove filler cap (8) and shutoff valve (11).
Remove bolts (10) and thermometer (9).

Remove bolts (13) and bracket assembly (12). Installation Procedure
Install hydraulic tank (3) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 12 3 N m (106 27 lb in).
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of breather (7).
