2. Attach a suitable lifting strap and hoist to the hydraulic tank. Install the hydraulic tank in the rear frame as shown. The weight of the hydraulic tank is approximately 175 kg (386 lb).3. Install four bolts (1) and washers that hold the hydraulic oil tank to the lower mounting bracket. 4. Connect hose assembly (2) to the manifold (if equipped).5. Connect hose assembly (6) to the elbow.6. Install the four bolts and washers to tube assembly (5).7. Install four bolts (4), washers and clamps that hold tube assembly (3) to the hydraulic tank. 8. Connect hose assemblies (7) and (8). Install the bolt and washer to clip (9). 9. Connect hose assembly (10) to the hydraulic tank. 10. Put tube (11) in position and install the bolts that hold the tube assembly to the hydraulic tank.11. Connect the temperature sensor cable to electrical connector (12). 12. Install two bolts (13) and washers to tube (11). Connect the hose assembly to tube (11) and install the clamps (14), bolts and washers. 13. Install the four bolts and washers that hold manifold assembly (15) to the hydraulic tank.14. Put the upper mounting bracket (16) in position and install the eight bolts and washers.15. Put the window washer containers and bracket (17) in position and install the two bolts and washers as shown. Connect the wiring harness to the window washer containers.End by:a. Start by:a. Remove hydraulic oil tank. Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, Caterpillar Tools and Shop Product Guide, for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Elphinstone machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Remove the bolts and locknuts that hold cover assembly (1) to tank assembly (2).2. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the cover assembly as shown. Remove the cover assembly from the tank assembly. The weight of the cover assembly is 48 kg (105 lb). 3. Remove four bolts (3) and the sight gauge assembly from the cover assembly. 4. Disassemble the sight gauge assembly. Remove plate (4), grommet (5), glass (6) and O-ring seals (7) from retainer (8). 5. Remove bolts (10), baffle assembly (9) and the oil filter base. 6. Remove studs (11) and O-ring seals (12) from filter base (13).
There is a compressed spring behind cover (15). When two bolts (14) are removed, the spring force will be released. To prevent possible personal injury, slowly and evenly loosen bolts (14) while retaining the cover.
7. While retaining cover (15), slowly and evenly loosen bolts (14) to release the spring force. Remove the cover from the base.8. Remove the O-ring seal from the cover.9. Remove spring (16) and valve (17) from the base. 10. Remove the bolts and
