Remove & Install Electric Starting Motor
For purposes of assembly, identify and mark the position of all wiring before disconnecting or removing any wires.
Disconnect batteries before performance of any service work.
1. Disconnect the wires from the electric starting motor. 2. Fasten a strap and a suitable lifting device to the electric starting motor. Remove three bolts (1) that hold the electric starting motor to the flywheel housing. Remove the electric starting motor. The weight of the electric starting motor is approximately 32 kg (70 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the electric starting motor. 3. Fasten a strap and a suitable lifting device to the electric starting motor and install the electric starting motor on the flywheel housing. Install the three bolts that hold the electric starting motor to the flywheel housing.4. Connect the wires to the electric starting motor.
