October 2007 REMAN CORE RETURN PACKAGING INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES Reman announces Reman Core Return Packaging Instructions and Guidelines SELD0030-00 designed for Caterpillar? dealers and Caterpillar authorized core inspection facilities that receive and/or ship cores to core processing centers and/or remanufacturing plants around the world. SELD0030-00 can be found on the Reman Web site reman.cat.com under the Publications and Policies section. While this guideline is not all inclusive, adherence to these instructions and guidelines will create a safer workplace for those individuals who load, ship, receive, and unload Reman core shipments; provide protection for the core to prevent damage and maximize allowable core credit; and encourage sound contamination control guidelines for dealers and Caterpillar. Specific guidelines for all Remanufactured Products are provided for each inspection line. Comments and photo illustrations have been provided to demonstrate examples of best practices and hazardous situations that should be avoided to improve safety and contamination control practices.Throughout this document, illustrations in red represent hazardous conditions, while illustrations in green represent best practices. It is the intention of Caterpillar to monitor dealer shipments and internal shipments for compliance with these packaging guidelines. Because of the extreme importance of compliance to avoid unsafe handlin conditions, non-compliance charges similar to our shipping instructions and Core Acceptance Criteria are under review.
