Use this procedure in order to troubleshoot an occurrence of a high turbocharger turbine inlet temperature for the engine. Use this procedure if one of the following event codes is active. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Event Codes" for information about event codes. Use Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) Service Tool in order to view the current trip points for these codes. For information on the engine monitoring system, refer to Troubleshooting, "Engine Monitoring System".

E243 (1) High Left Turbo Turbine Outlet Temperature The temperature at the outlet for the left turbocharger turbine has exceeded the trip point and the delay time has expired. The alarm output is activated. The code is logged.
E243 (3) High Left Turbo Turbine Outlet Temperature The fuel is shut off. The shutdown output is activated. The code is logged. The engine is shut down.
E244 (1) High Right Turbo Turbine Outlet Temperature The temperature at the outlet for the right turbocharger turbine has exceeded the trip point and the delay time has expired. The alarm output is activated. The code is logged.
E244 (3) High Right Turbo Turbine Outlet Temperature The fuel is shut off. The shutdown output is activated. The code is logged. The engine is shut down.

High Inlet Air Temperature
Use Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) Service Tool to check for a E368 High Inlet Air Temperature that is active or logged.If the code is active or logged, refer to Troubleshooting, "Inlet Air Temperature Is High" for information that is related to troubleshooting the condition.Incorrect Air/Fuel Ratio
An air/fuel mixture that is too rich will increase the exhaust temperature. Verify that the exhaust emissions are correct. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Air/Fuel Ratio Control - Adjust".A change in the fuel energy content will change the air/fuel ratio. Obtain a fuel analysis.If the fuel analysis is as expected, inspect the NOX sensor port in the flower pot for plugging. If necessary, clean the port. If the problem persists, refer to Troubleshooting, "Detonation Occurrence".The fuel supply pressure must be 876 to 1289 mbar absolute or 12.705 to 18.695 PSI. The gas differential pressure
