Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Open the left hand access door.

Put identification marks on hoses (2) and (4) for installation purposes.
Disconnect hose (2). Plug the hose. Plugs prevent fuel loss. Plugs prevent contaminating the fuel system.
Disconnect hose (4). Plug the hose. Plugs prevent fuel loss. Plugs prevent contaminating the fuel system.
Remove two bolts (1) and the two washers.
Remove water separator (3) .Installation Procedure

Install water separator (3) .
Install the two washers and two bolts (1) .
Connect hose (4) .
Connect hose (2) .
Close the left hand access door.
