Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear and damage. Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.

Install a new gasket on engine oil pan (1).
Raise engine oil pan (1) into position on the cylinder block. The weight of engine oil pan (1) is approximately 115 kg (253 lb).
Install the washers and bolts (3) on the left side.

Install the remaining washers and bolts (3) on the right side.
Install the O-ring seal and position elbow (2). Install bolts (4) to engine oil pan (1).
Install the oil level gauge.
Fill the crankcase with oil to the correct level. For additional information on filling the crankcase with oil, refer to Service Manual, "Lubrication and Maintenance" for the engine that is being serviced.
