This Program must be administered as soon as possible.When reporting the repair, use "PI31851" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Codeand "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI31851" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

This Revised Service Letter replaces the 04Mar2011 Service Letter. Changes have been made to Title and Rework Procedure.

PROBLEM
The existing 355-4969 connecting rod bolts need to be replaced on certain C280-6, C280-8, 3608, and C280-12 marine engines. If the existing connecting rod bolt fails, it can damage the liner, spray jet, rod, or engine block.

Replace the existing connecting rod bolts and nuts with new 369-7181 Bolts and 205-0640 Nuts.
