Burnishing Procedure for Non-Asbestos Service Brake Linings
1. Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from working machines and personnel.2. While running the machine in 5th gear, apply the brakes for four seconds then release the brakes for four seconds. Apply and release the brakes until the brake rotors temperature reachs 260°C (500°F). Then allow the rotors to cool to 120°C (250°F) or less. Repeat for a total of three cycles. To determine rotor temperatures, use 8T2844 Temperature Recorders, 8T3195 Temperature Recorder Crayons or an infrared thermometer.3. Follow by ten hard stops from full speed in 5th gear.
