System operation is similar for any screed mounted to the tractor.When the engine is running, the auxiliary pump generates flow. Supply oil flows to vibratory manifold (1) from auxiliary manifold (2). The oil flow is divided into two branches inside the vibratory manifold. The first branch flows to flow compensator valve (4). The second branch flows to vibratory control valve (3).When the vibratory system is off, the vibratory solenoid is not energized. In this case, supply oil does not flow through vibratory control valve (3). Supply oil pressure also shifts flow compensator valve (4) to the closed position. Under these conditions, the vibratory motors do not rotate.

Supply oil flows to vibratory manifold (1) from auxiliary manifold (2).When the vibratory system is enabled, the solenoid on vibratory control valve (3) is energized. In this case, oil flows through the control valve. This oil is used as pilot pressure to open flow compensator valve (4). As the compensator valve opens, supply oil is directed through the vibratory system. Under these conditions, screed vibratory motors (6) rotate.Flow compensator valve (4) reacts to variations in supply oil pressure to maintain the desired vibratory system speed. The pilot pressure and a spring act on one side of the valve to open the valve. Supply oil pressure acts on the other side to close the valve. When supply oil pressure drops, the compensator valve opens allowing more oil flow to the vibratory system. When supply oil pressure increases, the compensator valve closes reducing oil flow to the vibratory system.Vibratory system speed is determined by the current signal sent to the vibratory solenoid. The current signal controls movement of vibratory control valve (3) that controls flow to screed vibratory motors (6). A lower current signal produces a lower vibratory motor speed. A higher current signal produces a higher vibratory motor speed. Vibratory motor speed is adjustable from 700 rpm to 3000 rpm.The vibratory motors are arranged in a series hydraulic circuit. Oil flows through each motor in sequence. Typically, the sequence begins with the left main vibratory motor. The left extender vibratory motor is next, followed by the right extender vibratory motor.
