1. Remove the inlet, exhaust, and aftercooler tubes (1). See the topic "Remove & Install Muffler & Air Cleaner Assembly" in this module.2. Remove oil supply line (2) and oil drain line (3). 3. Bend the tabs of six locks (4) clear of the heads of twelve bolts (5). Remove the spacers, locks (4) and bolts (5). The turbocharger can be removed from the manifold either before or after removing exhaust manifold (6). See the topic "Remove & Install Turbocharger" in this module.4. Remove the turbocharger and exhaust manifold (6) with its gaskets from the engine. The weight of exhaust manifold (6) and the turbocharger is 22 kg (48 lb). Separate the turbocharger from the exhaust manifold. The following steps are for the installation of the exhaust manifold.5. Check the condition of the six gaskets used between the flanges of exhaust manifold (6) and the engine. Replace as necessary.6. Position the gaskets and exhaust manifold (6).7. Apply 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of twelve bolts (5). Install the spacers, locks (4) and twelve bolts (5). Install bolts (5) finger tight; then evenly tighten each bolt (5) to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).8. Bend the tabs on locks (4) to contact the heads of bolts (5).9. Install oil supply line (2) and oil drain line (3).10. Install the inlet, exhaust, and aftercooler tubes (1). See the topic "Remove & Install Muffler & Air Cleaner Assembly" in this module.
