Information:
This procedure applies to machines that have the Advanced Control Joysticks installed. If the Grade Control Push Button pods are installed on the machine, go to the prior CID 2260 procedure

Connections of side shift control mode switch on the left Advanced Control Joystick
This diagnostic will only be used when the Advanced Control Joystick is configured for grade control. This diagnostic code is associated with the Side Shift Blade Control Mode Switch on the left Advanced Control Joystick. The FMI 04 diagnostic code is activated when the Implement ECM detects both the normally open contacts are in a normally closed state. The following conditions could cause this diagnostic code to be activated:
The switch has failed.
The normally open circuit of the switch is shorted to ground.
The ECM has failed. An ECM failure is unlikely. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Clear these created diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Verify that the diagnostic code of CID 2260 FMI 04 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use a 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:When this diagnostic code is active, the hydraulic control system will default to the "Auto Not Allowed" state.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SWITCH
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the switch.
Use the Multimeter to verify the proper operation of the switch. Refer to Table 1 for the switch operation.
Table 1
(NC) J771 to -H745 (NO) Y937 to H745
Less than 5 ohms (switch not depressed) Less than 5 ohms (switch depressed)
Greater than 5000 ohms (switch depressed) Greater than 5000 ohms (switch not depressed) Expected Result:The switch is operating correctly. Results:
OK - The switch is operating correctly. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The switch is not functioning correctly. There is an internal failure in the switch.Repair: Replace the switch.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE NORMALLY OPEN CONTACT OF THE SWITCH CIRCUIT IN THE HARNESS
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors from the ECM. Note: The switch remains disconnected.
At the machine harness connector for the ECM, measure the resistance from contact J2-62 (wire E745-BU(Blue)) and contact J2-22 (wire H745-BR(Brown)). Expected Result:The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
OK - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE IS STILL ACTIVE.
Perform the following:
Visually inspect the harness connectors.
Clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors. Verify the following:
The connectors are fully seated.
The clips for each connector are fastened.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Operate the machine.
Determine if the CID 2260 FMI 04 is active. Expected Result:The CID 2260 FMI 04 is not active. Results:
OK - The CID 2260 FMI 04 is not active. The problem
