Reference: Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1087 for operating instructions for the 348-5430 Multi-Tool Gp.Note: Use Software License Card, NETG5049 with part number 348-5430 Multi-Tool Gp.Machine Preparation
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Position the machine on level ground in the service position. Refer to Illustration 5.
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".
Attach 311-1362 Vacuum Cap onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto the assembly. Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi). This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.

(1) Pressure tap (delivery pressure for drive pump)
(2) Pressure tap (delivery pressure for idler pump)
Connect 41,368 kPa (6,000 psi) pressure sensors to pressure tap (1) and pressure tap (2) for delivery pressure from both pumps.

(10) Flange
(11) Washer
(12) Bolt
Install the following tools in accordance with the flow meter tool layout. Refer to Illustration 7.
Disconnect hose (8) and hose (9) from the tubes at the boom foot.
Install seal (D11) and blocking cover (D12) to the two discharge ports at the boom foot. Use the existing flanges, bolts, and washers.
Install seal (D11) and blocking cover (D12) on the two boom cylinder hoses. Use half flange (D13), washer (D14) and bolt (D15).
Disconnect hose (6) and hose (7) from the tubes at the boom foot.
Install seal (D11) and blocking cover (D12) on the two boom cylinder hoses. Use half flange (D13), washer (D14) and bolt (D15).
Install seal (D11), adapter (D10), O-ring seal (D4), and coupler assembly (D5) to tube (4) and tube (5). Use the existing flanges, bolts, and washers.
Remove 311-1362 Vacuum Cap and install the filler plug for the hydraulic tank.
Connect portable hydraulic tester (D1) and the test hoses between coupler assembly (D5) on tube (4) and coupler assembly (D5) on tube (5). Note: In order to avoid damage to the flow meter, make sure that the direction of oil flow is correct. The proper direction of flow is from tube (4) for the boom cylinder head end, through portable hydraulic tester (D1), and return through tube (5) for the boom cylinder rod end.Test Procedure
To prevent personal injury or equipment damage from failure of the hydraulic test equipment or associated circuit components because of blocked pump flow, make sure that the test equipment valves are fully open before starting
