(10) Solenoid valve (high forward) The Power Train ECM output is a modulated current signal that is sent to the following: variator modulation valves, synchronizer modulation valve, auxiliary synchronizer modulation valve, clutch A modulation valve and clutch B modulation valve.The varying signal strength sent to each proportional solenoid valve by the Power Train ECM controls the rate of pressure modulation of each solenoid valve.Power Train ECM controls ON/OFF current to the low reverse, high reverse, low forward, and high forward solenoid valves.Note: The solenoid coils are not designed for direct 24 DCV operation. The ECM sends a 24V PWM signal at a duty cycle which provides an average voltage of about 12V to the solenoid coils. Do NOT activate the coils with 24 DCV (+ battery). If the coils are activated with 24 DCV, the life of the coils will be drastically reduced. If the coils are activated by another source that is not the ECM, the source must be 13 DCV.
