Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the power train oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Power Train Oil Pump - Remove". Note: In some cases, it may not be economical or it may not be practical to recondition a pump. This determination is made after disassembly and a close inspection of the pump components. Due to wear, reconditioning may not be possible. If the cost of reconditioning a pump exceeds the cost of a remanufactured pump, the pump should be replaced with a remanufactured pump instead of a reconditioned pump.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Dirt and contaminants can damage the precision components of the pump or the motor. All disassembly and assembly procedures must be performed on a clean work surface. Clean all the interior components in clean solvent. Dry all the interior components with compressed air. Plug ports and plug hoses on the machine during repair.
