Remove the large cover panel from the right-hand side of the operator cab.

Locate the J2 Plug on the chassis control Electronic Control Module (ECM). The J2 Plug is located above and to the rear of the air conditioning system refrigerant drier.

Link harness connected to position number 50 on J2 Plug.
Remove the J2 Plug from the ECM. Locate position number 50 on the plug and remove the plastic blanking pin. Insert the 500 mm (20 inch) wire with the (15) 9X-3402 Connector Socket of the manufactured link harness in to position 50 on the J2 plug.
Reconnect the J2 plug to the ECM.

Connector location
Locate the connector which connects the automatic lubrication system harness into the machine electrical harness. The connector is located at the lower left-hand corner of the cab close to the mounting plate for the main harness connectors. General location is between the cab and the machine frame.Note: Both wires for the automatic lubrication system are the color of gray. On the machine harness side, one of the wires is the color of black and the other is the color of yellow.

Separate the existing connector and connect each side to the corresponding connector on the link harness.

9 Strap-Cables
Secure link harness to the existing harnesses using nine 3S-9023 Strap-Cables .
Reinstall the cab panel.
Obtain software part number 448-5324 Software Gp from the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
Use the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) Service Tool to flash the Transmission ECM with the new 448-5324 Software Gp
Once the software has been installed, disconnect ET and turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Wait for approximately 1 minute, then turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Referring to the reference material and the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the machine you are working on, ensure that the automatic lubrication system is set to the "Heavy Duty Cycle" mode.
Disconnect the electrical harness from the automatic lubrication system pressure switch. Refer to the reference material for pressure switch locations. Install suitable protection to the disconnected harness and switch connectors.
Allow the machine to operate for a minimum of 1 hour.
Reconnect ET and check the transmission for logged event codes. If the system is functioning correctly, a level 1 Event - Code 863 "Abnormal Machine Auto lube System Operation "
