This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI30081" as the Part number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI30081" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
Whenever possible this program must be done at the same time as, or in conjunction with, the February 21, 2000 Service Letter - PI3388. In cases where the February 21, 2000 Service Letter - PI3388 has already been implemented this program must be done as soon as possible as described above.

The 119-4360 Brake/Shift Control Manifold on certain AP-1055B Asphalt Pavers; and on certain Barber-Greene BG-2455C Asphalt Pavers manufactured by Caterpillar may fail to operate properly due to malfunctioning 135-6285 Valve Cartridges. This can result in planetary clutch release and application control problems. Improved valve cartridges need to be installed to correct and/or prevent the problem.

Rework Procedure
REWORK PROCEDURE BRAKE / SHIFT CONTROL MANIFOLD REWORK (REF. P/N 119-4360)
Instructions:
The brake shift control manifold (p/n 119-4360) is mounted to the right side of the hydraulic tank.
1. Remove the pave and travel control solenoid valves from the control manifold, see Illustration below.2. Install the replacement pave and travel control solenoid valves, p/n 197-4048, and tighten to 35 ft.-lb.3. Start the machine and test for proper operation, in pave, travel and brake application.4. Check the valve installation to insure no oil leaks are present.
