Place the multimeter on the 200 ohm scale.
With one meter lead on contact 2, check the operation of the direction lever. Check all three positions.
The switches should operate according to the following chart.

YES - The measurements match the chart. Proceed to test step 3. Test Step 3. CHECK THE HARNESS
Block the wheels of the machine so the machine cannot move.
Reconnect the direction lever to the cab harness.
Disconnect the control from the machine harness.
Turn the key switch to the ON position.
Do NOT start the engine.
Release the parking brake.
At the harness connector for the control, measure the voltage from contact 2 (ground) to contact 18 and to contact 19 for the direction lever. The positions are listed in the chart below.
