Information:

Sudden movement of the machine or release of air or oil under pressure can cause personal injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible personal injury, do the following procedure which follows before servicing the air system or brakes.
1. Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from working machines and personnel.2. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all personnel either away from the machine or in view of the operator.3. Activate the secondary and parking brake. Lower the bucket to the ground. Put wood blocks in front of and behind the wheels. Stop the engine.4. Continuously push on the brake pedal until there is no more brake air pressure. When the pressure has been removed from the air circuit, there will be no more pressure in the hydraulic circuit.5. Be sure all air pressure is released before any fitting, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted. Before any operational checks are made, open the drain valve to release any water in the air reservoir. Water lowers the capacity in the reservoir and can cause the air compressor to run constantly. Close the drain valve. 6. Disconnect tube assembly (2) from quick release valve (1). The shop air supply must provide a minimum of 393 kPa (57 psi).7. Install an air hose fitting in the end of tube assembly (2). Connect shop air to the air hose fitting, and release the parking brake.
View From Under Machine8. Remove the cotter pin and pin (5) that holds the yoke of the brake actuator group to the lever for the parking brake.9. With the shop air supply still attached, remove two nuts (4) and the washers that hold brake actuator group (3) to the mounting bracket. Remove the brake actuator group from the machine.10. Disconnect the shop air supply from the brake actuator group. The following steps are for the installation of the brake actuator group.11. Put brake actuator group (3) in position in the mounting bracket, and install the two washers and nuts (4) that hold it.12. Connect shop air to the air hose fitting in the brake actuator group.13. Install pin (5) into the yoke of the brake actuator group and into the lever for the parking brake. Install the cotter pin in pin (5).14. Disconnect the shop air from the brake actuator group, and remove the air hose fitting.15. Connect tube assembly (2) to quick release valve (1).16. Adjust the secondary/parking brake. See the topic "Secondary/Parking Brake" in 980F Wheel Loader Air System And Brakes Specifications, Form No. SENR4994.Disassemble & Assemble Brake Actuator Group
