Before any adjustment procedure is performed, determine which type of relief valve was installed on your machine. If it is determined that the 875248 Relief Valve was installed, use the adjustment procedure in the reference. If it is determined that the 6E2471 Relief Valve was installed, use the following procedure. This procedure should also be added to the above reference.

Do not remove cap (2). Hydraulic pressure can force parts of the valve out and release hydraulic oil that is under high pressure. Hydraulic oil that is hot and under pressure can cause severe personal injury.
The 875248 Valve shown in Illustration 1 must have the locknut locked against the valve body and the cap to maintain adjustment. The 6E2471 Valve shown in Illustration 2 must have locknut (1) locked against cap (2) to maintain adjustment.
1. Loosen locknut (1). Do not remove cap (2).2. Turn cap (2) in or out to get a line relief pressure of 33 800 1470 kPa (4900 215 psi).3. Tighten locknut (1) against cap (2) to a torque of 61 6 N m (45 4 lb ft).
