Removal Procedure
Start By:
Tilt the Cab. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab - Tilt".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The Gear pump for the hydraulic fan on the 735 Articulated Truck is located on the front of the pump drive on the right side of the machine.

Loosen the two retaining nuts and disconnect two hoses (1) from the gear pump (2). Move the hoses aside.

Remove two bolts (3) and the two washers in order to remove the gear pump (2) from pump drive (4). Remove the O-ring seal (not shown) from the flange of the gear pump. The weight of the gear pump is 12.5 kg (28 lb).
