Information:
Parking Brake
The parking brake can be disabled or enabled using the ET service tool. The SWC input for the parking brake input shows the parking brake set when the input is a closed circuit. The parking brake is disengaged when the input has an open circuit. The programmable parameters for the park brake have the following selections:
Installed
Installed and Neutralizer Logic is Enabled
Not InstalledWhen the parking brake option "Installed and Neutralizer Logic is Enabled"is selected, the parking brake can be used to prevent the vehicle operator from shifting into a range from Neutral without additional operator interaction. Transitioning the Parking Brake control from OFF to ON after the vehicle has come to a complete stop (zero output shaft speed and zero vehicle speed broadcast over the J1939 Data Link), the transmission will shift into Neutral. Once in Neutral, the shift selector will indicate Neutral and the Desired Gear, Left "N" on the shift pad, will flash. This indicates to the operator that Neutral must be re-selected in order for the transmission to shift into a desired range. The transmission will not automatically shift back into the previous range. The operator is required to select Neutral and then the desired range. The operator can then drive through the Parking Brake if desired. Once the operator selects Neutral and then a range, the Neutralization feature is overridden. The transmission will not automatically shift back in to Neutral until the Parking Brake is released and then reapplied with zero vehicle speed.Shift Selection Function
The OEM transmission has one type of shift selector. The shift selector is a push button shifter. The ability to have two shift selectors is desired for some applications. This function requires a SWC input to the ECU sensor common and some programmable parameters. The secondary shift selector input can be a push button shifter.Note: The SWC must return to pin J2-22 for sensor common at the ECU. A chassis ground connection for the SWC is incorrect. When the shift selector input has a closed circuit, then the shift selector input switches to the second shift selector. The switch will only occur if both shift selectors are selecting NEUTRAL, the transmission is in NEUTRAL, and the output speed is zero. The display of the inactive shift selector is blank if it is a push button shift selector. If any of the conditions are not met, then the shift selector input will not switch until all the conditions are met.Shift Display Blank Input Function
The shift display blank input function is where the vehicle maker can add a switch for the operator to turn off the shift selector display. There is a customer parameter to enable this feature and also a switch selection to choose which input to use for this function. The function works if the input has a closed circuit, then the display is blanked. For the switch to battery type input, the display is blanked when the input is tied to battery voltage.Gear Driver Output Indicator
