Check
Raise the screed and engage the travel lock.
The main screed plate must be adjusted. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Screed Plate - Check and Adjust".
Use a caliper and check the thickness of the screed plate. If the thickness of the plate is less than 3.175 mm (0.125 inch), replace the screed plate. Refer to Step 5.

Start at one end of the screed and check the flatness across the length of the screed. If the screed plate is not flat within 1.5 mm (0.06 inch), replace the screed plates. Refer to Step 5.
In order to replace the extender screed plate, refer to Disassembly and Assembly,, "Screed Plate (Extender) - Remove and Install".Adjust
Raise the screed and engage the travel lock.
Extend the extender.
Remove the deflector plates.
Place a string line across the leading edge. If the leading edge is not between zero and1.5 mm (.06 in), use the screed plate leveling adjusters in order to bring the screed plate within tolerance. Adjuster nuts should be torqued to 70 12 N m (52 9 lb ft).Note: One full turn of the screed plate leveling adjusters results in 2.12 mm (0.084 inch) of vertical movement of the screed plate.

Use shims to verify the overhang for nose bar (2). The nose bar (2) should be between zero and 0.8 mm (0.03 inch) (A) below screed plate (1). If nose bar (2) is above screed plate (1), add shims to screed plate (1) between nose bar (2) and screed frame (1). If nose bar (2) is below screed plate (1), shims can be removed from screed frame (1) .

Place a string line across the trailing edge. Use the trailing edge adjusters in order to set the flatness of the trailing edge.Note: Do not disturb the outer adjusters.
Install the deflector plates.Slope Stop Adjustment
A straight edge is needed. Raise the extender above the main screed. Lay the straight edge on the main screed plate at the outside edge.
Use the vertical height adjuster to lower the extender until the trailing edge of the extender touches the straight edge.
Move the straight edge to the inside edge of the extender. Use the screed extension slope control in order to raise or lower the inside edge of the extender until the trailing edge touches the straight edge.
Loosen the jam nut. Adjust the bolt until the bolt makes contact with the frame. Tighten the jam nut.Screed Attack Angle

A straight edge (5) is needed. Raise extender (3) above main screed (4). Lay straight edge (5) on the main screed plate at the outside edge.
Use the vertical height adjuster to lower the extender until trailing edge (1) of the extender touches straight edge (5) .
Move the straight edge to the inside edge of the extender. Use the screed extension slope control to lower the inside edge of the extender until trailing edge (1) touches the straight edge.
Measure dimension (A) between leading edge (2) and straight edge (5). Dimension (A) must be 3.175 mm (0.125 inch) at this point.
If dimension
