Hydraulic lockout solenoid connectionsWhen the hydraulic lockout solenoid is de-energized, pilot pressure for the implement system will be blocked to disable the implement system.Under normal conditions, the hydraulic lockout solenoid is energized by an ECM output at contact J2-2 (wire M927-GN) that is switched through the hydraulic lockout switch contacts. The switched energize circuit is monitored by ECM contact J1-24 (wire E918-GN). The ECM can energize the solenoid under certain machine conditions in order to lock out the implement hydraulics. The FMI 06 means that the ECM has detected that the energize current for the solenoid is above normal. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The hydraulic lockout solenoid has failed.
The hydraulic lockout switch has failed.
The energize circuit is shorted to ground.
The ECM has failed. This condition is unlikely.Note: Before performing this procedure, ensure that a CID 0490 hydraulic lockout switch diagnostic code is not active. If a CID 0490 hydraulic lockout switch diagnostic code is active, perform the procedure for the CID 0490 code and clear the code before performing this procedure. Ensure that the CID 0882 FMI 06 code is active before performing this procedure.System Response:When this diagnostic code is active, all implement functions are disabled. Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in the procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Disconnect the machine harness from the solenoid.
Observe the status of the CID 0882 FMI 06 diagnostic code. Expected Result:The active FMI 06 diagnostic code changes to an active FMI 05 diagnostic code when the solenoid is disconnected from the machine harness. Results:
YES - The active FMI 06 diagnostic code changes to an FMI 05 diagnostic code when the solenoid is disconnected. The circuit is correct.Repair: Repeat this test "CHECK THE SOLENOID" in order to verify that the solenoid has failed. Replace the solenoid.STOP
NO - The FMI 06 diagnostic code remains active. Disconnecting the solenoid did not affect the status of the active diagnostic code. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE SOLENOID CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
The machine harness remains disconnected from the solenoid.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the hydraulic lockout switch, disconnect wire M927-GN from switch contact 2. Disconnect wire E918-GN from switch contact 1.
Disconnect the J1 and J2 machine harness connector from the ECM.
At the J1 and J2 machine harness connector, measure the resistance from contact J1-4 (wire F761-BR) to all of the other J1 and J2 contacts and to frame ground.
Measure the resistance from contact J2-2 (wire M927-GN) to all of the other J1 and J2 contacts and to frame ground.Expected Result:Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - One or more of the resistance measurements is less than 5000 ohms. There is a short in the solenoid energize circuit of the machine
