Connect the start aid tube in the intake air line and connect the start aid coolant temperature switch to the chassis harness.
Connect the original machine harness to the original engine harness.
Connect the starter and alternator wires.
Connect the repower harness to the main power relay. Install the engine 6T-3643 Circuit Breaker and key on 4K-5122 Fuse Holder with 10A 3K-8782 Fuse. Refer to Schematic, UENR5144.
Install the hood.

(3) 8N-2729 Metal Seal Ring
(4) 8N-2730 Metal Seal Ring
Install the original muffler and exhaust lines with the new required parts metal seal ring (3) and metal seal ring (4).

Install the original dust ejector lines.Cab Modifications

(1) 125-3420 Decelerator Control
Install the decelerator control (1) on the lower right side of dashboard. Then connect to the repower harness.

(2) 105-9149 Switch
Install throttle switch (2) and 6V-1748 Actuator on the right side console. Install 121-2843 Switch Harness As to the switch (2) and connect to the repower harness. Wire extensions may be required. Add wires to connect the cab ground and the panel lamp dimmer switch. Refer to the Schematic, UENR5144.

Create a clearance hole for the service tool connector.

Install datalink receptacle (3) and receptacle cap (4) near the fuse panel. Then connect to repower harness.Charging the Refrigerant System
The system capacity for this repower is approximately 2.3 kg (5 lb). Refer to SIS for Testing and Adjusting, SENR5664, "Refrigerant System - Charge".Repower Machine Cycle Times
Record the cycle times for the repower machine and refer to the Service Manual for your particular machine to record cycle times.Repower Machine Stall Speed (If Applicable)
Do not leave the converter in a stall condition for a prolonged period. Only stall the converter to record engine speed and boost pressure. Observe the torque converter oil and the cooling system temperatures. Do not allow the converter oil or the cooling system to overheat.
Record the stall speed for the repower machine. Refer to SIS for Special Instruction, SEHS7050, "Techniques for loading engines". Refer to the Service Manual for your particular machine to record stall speed.Registering Repower Machines
Refer to Special Instruction, REHS5097, "Instructions to Register the Retrofit" for the procedure.Documenting changes to a machine configuration is an advantage to Caterpillar and the dealer technicians that are sent to repair a machine. By identifying that the machine has been reconfigured, the technician will have a better opportunity to have the correct parts, tooling, and service information. Identifying that the machine has been reconfigured will also allow Caterpillar to include the retrofitted serial numbers in applicable Service Letters.
