Using the "Ethernet" option allows multiple UPSView Software users to monitor the operation of the Caterpillar UPS simultaneously. Each user must be connected to the Local Area Network (LAN) that is connected to the UPS.Internet Interface
By using the "Ethernet" option, the Caterpillar UPS allows the user to monitor the system over the Internet by using a LAN.
Network monitoring requires an IP address that is statically assigned to the UPS.
Internet monitoring requires a LAN connection to the Internet.E-mail Notification
The "Ethernet Connection" option enables e-mail messages to be broadcast to all recipients on the receipt list at one time for all "Notice" events and for all "Alarm" events. E-mail requires a connection to a LAN with an SMTP email server.The e-mail messages contain the following items:

Serial number
Physical location
