Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the system pressure.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove filter element (3).
Disconnect harness assembly (2). Remove harness assembly (2) if replacing housing (4).
Remove bolts (1) and housing (4).Installation Procedure
Install the transmission oil filter in the reverse order of removal.
If the transmission oil filter base was removed. If removed tighten harness assembly (2) to a torque of 15 3 N m (133 27 lb in).
Tighten filter element (3) to a minimum torque of 50 N m (37 lb ft) to a maximum torque of 100 N m (74 lb ft). Use 1-1/2 inch socket or box end wrench. DO NOT use open end or adjustable wrench.
